Italian media outlet Sport Mediaset has learned that French Ligue 1 outfit Marseille have been showing interest in Uruguayan defender Martin Caceres.
The 29-year-old has been a free agent since leaving Juventus at the end of last season, and he was believed to be on the verge of joining Inter Milan a month ago, but the deal eventually fell through.
It has now been reported that Marseille boss Rudi Garcia is thinking about offering Caceres a contract as he aims to reinforce his back line.
The Uruguay international missed the end of last season through Achilles injury, but he has since returned to full fitness.
It would appear as though Inter Milan coaching staff were not satisfied with his current condition, but Caceres has since had an entire month to improve his fitness levels and he will now attempt to earn a contract with the Stade Velodrome outfit.
