Martin Jol takes over at Fulham

Premier League side Fulham have announced the capture of coach Martin Jol on their official website.

The Cottagers wasted no time in replacing Mark Hughes, who left the post last Thursday, with former Tottenham boss Martin Jol signing a two-year deal at Craven Cottage.

Fulham chiefs wanted to bring Jol last summer when Roy Hodgson left for Liverpool, but the move was blocked by the Ajax management.

The Dutchman now returns to the Premiership after he was surprisingly sacked by Tottenham four years ago.

“I am very happy to join Fulham Football Club, a wonderful traditional club. It is a club with good, solid foundations and a great fan base,” Jol told Fulham’s official website.

“I am looking forward to being part of the Fulham family and thank the chairman for the trust he’s shown in me.”
