Serie A giants Fiorentina are being linked with a move for Barcelona defender Martin Montoya, Il Corriere dello Sport is reporting.
Viola are in the market for a right-sided defender and they appear to be hot on the trail of the 23-year-old footballer.
Even if he has signed a new deal until June 2018 at Camp Nou, Montoya is desperate to leave the Catalans in search of first team football, but the problem is Barcelona are holding out for €10 million.
Fiorentina officials will, nonetheless, try and find an agreement with the La Liga giants, or alternatively turn their attention towards Torino’s Matteo Darmian.
The Italy international has been on the radar of Europe’s top clubs for quite a while now, and it is only a matter of time before he leaves Granata for greener pastures.
Darmian did well to nail down a regular starting berth in the national team, starting all four Euro 2016 qualifiers for the Azzurri.
