Real Madrid attacking midfielder Martin Odegaard has completed a medical at Arsenal, according to Sky Sports. It has been reported that Arsenal will officially announce the deal imminently.
The 22-year-old attacking midfielder will join Arsenal on loan from Spanish and European giants Madrid. The Norway international will stay at the North London club until the end of the season. Real Sociedad were also keen on securing the services of the youngster on a loan deal, but Madrid did not want to send him to a club that are challenging for the Champions League places in the La Liga table.
With Mesut Ozil having left, Arsenal have Emile Smith Rowe as the only recognised attacking midfielder in the squad. Odegaard has not been able to make a huge impact at Madrid this season, but the Norway international will add depth to manager Mikel Arteta’s squad and will give the Arsenal manager another option. The Gunners are aiming to finish in the top four of the Premier League table this season.
