Former Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel is believed to be edging closer to sealing a £2.7 million transfer to Rangers.
The Slovakian defender gave his nod on a three-year deal to complete reunion with his former Reds teammate as Steven Gerrard begins to earn his managerial badges at Ibrox.
The experienced 33-year-old centre-back made 30 competitive outings for Turkish giants Fenerbahce last season, scoring three goals along the way.
He spent last two seasons playing in Turkey but will now return to the British Isles with Rangers officials expecting him to arrive to the club even before Steven Gerrard reports for duty on June 1.
Rangers are also looking at Liverpool winger Harry Wilson who is expected to move to Scotland on a year-long deal. Gerrard is said to be a keen admirer of Wilson who he worked with at Liverpool Under-18s.
Gers have already signed Scott Arfield and Allan McGregor on free transfers, whereas Jamie Murhpy’s loan deal was also made a permanent deal.
