Martinez adamant that he will keep hold of Baines and Fellaini

Roberto Martinez has insisted that he will not sell Marouane Fellaini or Leighton Baines this summer, the Express understands.

The Merseyside club rejected a bid of £28m from Manchester United for the pair earlier this week, with the Toffee’s labelling the offer ‘derisory and insulting’.

Former Toffee’s boss David Moyes is considering an improved offer of around £35m, though Martinez is adamant that he has no need to sell, and that any forthcoming bids will be turned down.

Arsenal are also said to be interested in Fellaini, with manager Arsene Wenger desperate to bring in some new players before the transfer window closes on September 2nd.

Both the defender and midfielder played the full ninety minutes of Everton’s 2-2 draw at Norwich City in their opening Premier League game of the season last weekend, though Martinez believes that the interest in his star players may have caused their heads to turn.
