Wigan manager Roberto Martinez wants his struggling team to find some consistency ahead of a tough run of games.
The Lancashire outfit are currently second from bottom, three points adrift of safety, and must face Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United during the run-in.
With nine games to play, Martinez’s side travel to Anfield this weekend and the Spaniard is bullish that his side can build on their performance against West Brom last weekend.
“The next nine games are crucial for us and there is nothing we have to do different at all,” he told Sky Sports News.
“All we need to do is be really consistent in the good things we have done and not lose focus on keeping producing chances.
“In a moment we can change with a little bit of luck in front of goal and start collecting points.”
Wigan have only picked up six points in 2012 but Martinez still feels there is a chance of them retaining their Premier League status and will be looking for consistency to help them achieve that aim.
“That is our target to be very consistent from now until the end of the season,” he said.
“Twenty-seven points to fight for is a tremendous challenge and as a football club we are ready to face that.”
