Wigan manager Roberto Martinez has been charged with improper conduct following comments made about referee Stuart Attwell after the Premier League clash with Manchester City, the Football Association (FA) confirmed Thursday.
The Latics boss was incensed following the game at Eastlands on March 29 and criticised Attwell’s decision to send off defender Gary Caldwell as his side went down 3-0.
The Spaniard said Atwell was guilty of “lying” and described the official’s decision as “a real injustice.”
Martinez has until April 22 to respond to the charge.
