“I’ve said it before that I am going to be here as long as they want me,” Martinez told the league’s official website.

“I am happy here, I feel like I’m at home”.

Those are the words of Josef Martinez, who has revealed that he is perfectly comfortable remaining in Major League Soccer for as long as is necessary. After 31 goals in the MLS season it’s not exactly a shock to hear that clubs all around Europe are interested in acquiring his services, but right now, it seems as if Atlanta United is his home.

The 25 year old is thriving in the division, and he could serve as one of the catalysts behind more and more players testing the waters in the MLS. After all, it’s no secret that the quality of competition isn’t believed to be quite as high over there, and it allows players to develop at an even faster rate.
