Everton manager Roberto Martinez has confirmed he will be looking to reinforce the squad should the Toffees secure European qualification.
With Manchester City winning the Capital One Cup, the Goodison Park outfit will qualify for Europe if they can achieve a top 6 finish in the Premier League, while they could also make it to Europa League by winning the FA Cup.
And with Everton currently sitting pretty in sixth place, Roberto Martinez is already thinking about potential reinforcements.
“Europe is obviously an aim we need to fight for. To be able to compete in Europe would stretch us massively in terms of the squad. 100% we’d need to increase the size of our squad,” Martinez told Liverpool Echo.
“Europe has different demands and that has to be reflected in the numbers you have in the squad and the type of player you bring in too. Sometimes you need to bring in experienced players at an international level.”
The Toffees did well to keep hold of star players Leighton Baines and Ross Barkley, and it looks as though the boss will receive the backing to try and take the team to a new level.
Everton will be vying with reigning champions Manchester United for the final top 6 berth as things stand now, and they are available at 8/11 to succeed in their quest and finish the campaign in top six.
