According to Talk Sport, Wigan manager Roberto Martinez insists that Victor Moses’ possible transfer move to Chelsea is still a long way from happening.
Moses was involved in the Latics 2-0 defeat to Chelsea today in the opening weekend of fixtures in the English Premier League.
The Nigerian international has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge for much of the summer but as the days go by, he looks more and more likely to stay at the DW Stadium.
Martinez has stated that the clubs valuation of their star man has not been met yet: “If someone matches that valuation then you need to have a decision but until that happens [it is business as normal].
“That hasn’t been an issue in the last ten days. In the last ten days we have had real normality with that situation and I hope that that doesn’t change because Victor is a top player.”
The Spanish boss is sure to fight tooth and nail to keep Moses in his squad as he again looks to lead Wigan away from the bottom three.
Should Chelsea come in with the right amount of money though then the deal will surely go through.
Moses himself is likely to relish the opportunity of playing Champions League football and would get a great contract offer from the Blues.
It is certainly a story to keep an eye on, will Chelsea come up with the cash before the window closes?
We shall see.
