Bayern Munich signing Javi Martinez is delighted with the help Bastian Schweinsteiger is offering him in adapting to his new surroundings.
The Spain international left Athletic Bilbao for a German adventure during the transfer window, and Schweinsteiger is doing his utmost to make the new signing feel at home at the Allianz Arena.
“Schweinsteiger is a legend, a great guy. He speaks a bit of Spanish and is trying to help me to settle in,” Martinez told the club’s website.
The holding midfielder said he would do his utmost to become a key player at the Bundesliga giants.
“Now I feel like I can focus on football again and train every day to earn my place in the starting 11, that’s what I wanted,” Martinez said.
“I’ll play wherever the trainer wants me to play and I’m going to give it everything so I can do it well. I’m the kind of player who gives 100 percent in every game.”
Martinez made his official Bayern debut in last weekend’s 6-1 win over Stuttgart.
