Martinez set for new Inter Milan deal

According to a recent report from Tuttosport, Inter Milan are currently working on a new deal with Lautaro Martinez in the midst of great interest from Spanish giants Barcelona. Martinez is said to be at the top of Barca’s wish list as we look ahead to the January transfer window, with the 22 year old making a statement or two in the early stages of the new Serie A campaign. He is considered to be the natural successor to Luis Suarez, with the veteran forward believed to be edging closer and closer towards a move away from the Nou Camp.

If Inter do manage to lock him down to a brand new contract, then the belief is that his release clause would go all the way up to around £96 million. While Barca would certainly be capable of paying a fee like that, you have to question how much of an investment they’d want to make – especially after they recently spent so much on Antoine Griezmann.
