According to a recent report from Sport, Barcelona target Lautaro Martinez may now end up staying at Inter Milan as his €111 million release clause is set to expire today.
It’s been a long and arduous journey for all parties involved with this deal, with Barca seemingly doing everything in their power to make sure this transfer gets over the finish line. Unfortunately for them, as of this writing, it doesn’t quite seem as if it’s going to happen.
The 22-year-old Argentine has been at the heart of great speculation regarding this deal for many months now, and yet despite this seemingly signalling the end of the road for Barcelona, they’re still said to be confident that they can get the job done.
If they are going to make it a reality, they’ll almost certainly have to put forward an offer that Inter simply cannot refuse – but for now, it appears to be unlikely.
