Mascherano keen for Barca stay

Midfielder Javier Mascherano has made it clear he is enjoying life at Barcelona and says he is keen to stay at Camp Nou.

The Argentina international has developed into an important first-team member with the La Liga giants since joining them from Liverpool in August 2010, and he is eager to stay put.

“I have no intention to leave Barcelona. I am very happy with the way things are going here,” Mascherano said.

“I don’t think I deserve a new contract.

“If I have the chance to continue or get a new deal in the future, that will be great. The club will decide.”

The 27-year-old’s contract runs until June 2014.
