As per several sources, Mason Mount has hired agent Neil Fewings to take care of his interests as he tries to sort his future out. The change comes in the middle of uncertainty, with his contract with Chelsea about to enter its final 12 months.
The report came from Daily Mail‘s Matt Hughes first, and others have confirmed the news since.
The talks between the club and the player are believed to have come to a standstill, and there have been claims that Mount has already been told he can leave in the summer if an acceptable offer arrives. The London Blues spent over £600 million on new players in the last year, and they aren’t likely to miss Mount too much.
On the other hand, at the age of 24, the England international boasts plenty of top-level experience and would certainly be very useful at another top club. Liverpool, who are looking to rebuild their ranks this summer, are believed to be holding a strong interest in Mount. Manchester United and Newcastle have also been mentioned in that aspect.
