Remember Arthur Masuaku? He’s that French left back who has made 19 Premier League appearances in two seasons for West Ham. Well his struggles to hold down a regular starting role in a Hammers defence that has conceded 23 goals in 11 league games have resulted in interest from three of Italy’s biggest clubs, according to the Guardian.
Masuaku made the move to West London from Olympiacos in August of 2016 for a fee of £6m. Since then he has been uninspiring at best and has struggled not only to establish himself any consistent game time, but also to put in any real performances of note.
Despite this, Napoli, Juventus and AC Milan are all reportedly interested in acquiring the Frenchman, perhaps in the hopes that the Serie A will be where he can rediscover his form. According to the player’s agent Francesco Lingenti however, Masuaku will only join Juventus if their current left back Alex Sandro departs.
Whether these rumours will result in a deal remains to be seen, but you have to wonder quite why these world famous clubs are scraping the bottom of the barrel so desperately in their search for a fullback.
