Mata linked with United exit

Manchester United would be willing to sell Juan Mata at the right price, according to the Daily Star.

The Spain international moved to Old Trafford in January for a then club record fee of £37.1m, and he has gone on to score nine goals in twenty-four league appearances.

However, Spanish reports have suggested that Louis van Gaal remains unconvinced, and would consider selling him if the club could recoup a decent amount of the money they laid out for him just ten months ago.

Atletico Madrid, Juventus and Valencia have all been linked with a move for the midfielder’s services though more of Europe’s elite are expected to through their hats into the ring.

Prior to his switch to United, the 26 year old World Cup winner spent two years with Chelsea and was named the club’s player of the season in both of his first two campaigns at Stamford Bridge.
