The Mirror understands that Juan Mata is keen to sign a new contract at Manchester United.
The Spain international, who moved to Old Trafford under David Moyes half way through the 2013/14 season, was linked with a move to Everton in the summer but remained at Old Trafford and has had an impressive start to the season.
He has racked up one hundred and eleven appearances for the Red Devils in all competitions, scoring twenty-eight goals – two of which have come in seven outings this season.
Prior to his move to Manchester, he was twice named Chelsea Player of the Year during a two-and-a-half year stint at Stamford Bridge, while he also won the FA Cup, Europa League and Champions League during his time with the Blues.
Internationally he has ten goals in forty appearances for his country and was part of the squads that won both the World Cup in 2010 and the European Championships two years later.
