Mata set for United exit?

The Daily Star understand that Manchester United have put a £30m price-tag on midfielder Juan Mata, paving the way for Juventus to make a move.

The Spain international only moved to Old Trafford from Chelsea back in January for a then club record fee of £37.1m though he has so far struggled to recapture the form that saw him be named to Blues Player of the Year to seasons in succession.

New United manager Louis van Gaal has added a plethora of attacking talent to his squad with the signings of Angel Di Maria and Radamel Falcao while they are set to reignite their interest in Juve midfielder Arturo Vidal when the transfer window reopens.

Mata netted in the 1-1 draw with Sunderland last month, while he bagged six goals in fifteen league appearances for the club last season.

United next face Queens Park Rangers at home on Sunday, with Mata priced at 5/1 to open the scoring.

Mata is an integral part of the new United set up this story is utter bull. Not only is the speculation one of the most imaginative wild inventions create this year but the fact that they are linking Mata to the likes of Juventus who wouldn’t sell Vidal to United is laughable. Why would United sell Mata? on what grounds? and what is this nonsense that United have too many star names and that players will leave in order to accommodate them all?? Does City or PSG or Chelsea Barca Bayern etc have this issue… NO! so why is it that United are singled out? Just a non story create by the daily rag newspaper. There’s as much chance of City selling Aguerro or Chelsea selling Fabregas to Burnley next summer.
