Mata to be offered Manchester United deal

According to Sky Sports, Manchester United are hoping to lock Juan Mata down to a new deal. Mata has been linked with a new contract for months now, given that his current one is set to come to an end this season. The 30 year old has had an up and down tenure in English football thus far, but if these reports are to be believed, then he’ll still be with us for at least a few more years.

Mata has enjoyed more game time over the course of the last few months, which makes sense given that he’s a fantastic player – but it also makes sense because other clubs have showcased their interest in the former Chelsea star.

Atletico Madrid and Arsenal are the two main teams that have been interested, although it seems as if Mata is more than happy to remain at Old Trafford – for now, at least.
