Wednesday’s Asian Champions League match between Sydney FC and Kashima Antlers in Japan has been postponed.

Nagoya Grampus’ clash with Al Ain of the United Arab Emirates on Tuesday has also been called off.

The news comes after the postponement of all 19 of this weekend’s J-League and J2-League fixtures in the wake of the earthquake and tsunami which have devastated Japan.

The 8.9 magnitude quake struck on Friday off the north-east coast of the country, triggering massive tidal waves which have wreaked havoc, with latest estimates putting the death toll at 1300.

The Asian Football Confederation will now work with the clubs involved to determine the best way to proceed.
