Matej Vydra eyes Burnley exit in January

Burnley forward Matej Vydra is ready to leave the Premier League club in the January transfer window, according to LancsLive. The Clarets have taken up the option to extend the forward’s contract by another year, meaning that he is now tied down to Turf Moor until the summer of 2022.

However, according to the report, the Czech Republic international forward wants to leave Burnley when the transfer window opens in January. The former Derby County star is struggling to play regularly at the moment and wants to play week-in and week-out in order to feature for his national team at the European Championship next summer.

According to WhoScored, Vydra has made one start and five substitute appearances in the Premier League for Burnley so far this season. During the 2019-20 campaign, 28-year-old forward made seven starts and 12 substitute appearances in the league for the Clarets, scoring two goals and providing one assist in the process, according to WhoScored.
