Materazzi delighted to stay at Inter

Inter Milan defender Marco Materazzi is delighted that the Serie A side turned down numerous approaches for him during the January transfer window, according to his personal blog www.marcomaterazzi.it.

The veteran defender attracted increased transfer speculation over the transfer period, with several top European clubs said to be interested in the star.

However, Inter are said to be reluctant to part with the World Cup winner whilst Materazzi himself is clearly happy to remain at the San Siro.

Materazzi wrote on his personal blog: “In truth I never had any doubts, There were teams that were interested in me and I waited to see what Inter did and eventually they spoke to me about the transfer window.

“The directors did speak to clubs who had asked about the possibility of having me, but only to say I wouldn’t be leaving Inter.”
