Former Inter Milan defender Marco Materazzi has urged the 2009/10 Champions League winners to make a move for AC Milan striker Alexandre Pato.
Inter are eager to strengthen their attack in the January transfer window and have set their sights on Manchester City forward Carlos Tevez.
But Materazzi would rather see his former club make a move for the Brazil international than the City outcast, who has also attracted the interest of Milan.
“I don’t think Tevez will come. We should take Pato. I’d take him right away. He is one of the biggest talents around in my opinion,” Materazzi told RMC.
“Obviously, you’d have to wait and see whether it’s a possibility, but that’s up to the club. Either way, I’d always take Pato if the opportunity is there.”
The 22-year-old Milan star was believed to be on his way to Paris Saint-Germain last week, but the transfer fell through when the player pledged his loyalty to Massimiliano Allegri’s side.
Milan are expected to cash in on Pato if they manage to lure Tevez to San Siro, but it is unlikely they would be willing to sell the Brazilian to their arch-rivals.
