Lyon winger Mathieu Valbuena has denied speculation linking him with a January move away from Parc OL.
The 32-year-old has utterly failed to prove his worth since arriving from Dynamo Moscow, and he was repeatedly linked with a January exit.
Valbuena has recently started showing some improvement and he has now made it clear that he has no intention of leaving les Gones, but rather wants to prove his worth at Parc OL.
“The winter market is not a question I ask myself,” Valbuena explained to Canal Football Club. “Leaving my teammates in the middle of the season has never been my thing.
”My goal is to succeed at OL and impose myself. I detest failure.”
Valbuena’s career started taking the wrong turn when he snubbed offers from top European clubs to sign a lucrative deal with Dynamo Moscow in August 2014, while the much publicised incident involving Karim Benzema certainly did not help.
It is clear that the events have seriously affected the highly rated midfielder, who has experienced plenty of problems over the last couple of years, but the good news is that he seems prepared to work hard in an attempt to make things right.
