Mathieu Valbuena set for La Liga switch

French daily newspaper L’Equipe has suggested that Valencia are in pole position to sign Marseille star Mathieu Valbuena.

Los Che will have money to spend this summer as wealthy businessman Peter Lim is set to be confirmed as the new owner and they are expected to add several high-profile footballers to their ranks.

Marseille midfielder Mathieu Valbuena is reportedly one of the players they are looking at and there is a chance he will be moving to Mestalla this summer.

The 29-year-old has decided to look for a new challenge after spending last eight years at Stade Velodrome, and he is likely to make a decision on his future after the 2014 World Cup.

Mathieu Valbuena seems to have nailed down a regular starting berth in Didier Deschamp’s side, and no doubt he will be very motivated to impress any visiting scouts at the 2014 World Cup finals in Brazil.
