Anderlecht striker Matias Suarez is on the verge of completing a €15 million move to CSKA Moscow, according to Belgian news agency Sudpresse.
According to the report, Anderlecht general manager Herman Van Holsbeeck met with CSKA Moscow chiefs at a restaurant in Brussels last night, where they agreed the details of the transfer.
The Belgian club are expected to announce the deal at a press conference later today.
Football fans may be surprised to hear that the Argentine is set for a move to Russia given that he was followed by a number of top European clubs, but CSKA Moscow were the first club to match Anderlecht’s valuation of the player.
The Belgian club will try to delay the transfer so that they can count on the player during the Champions League qualifying stages.
The 24-year-old joined Anderlecht from Belgrano in 2008 and has since scored 32 goals in 115 league games for the Belgian giants.
