Napoli are considering a bid for Fiorentina midfielder Matias Vecino, Il Corriere dello Sport has revealed.
The Azzurri have seen Gokhan Inler leave the club and with Jonathan De Guzman nearing the exit door as well, they hope to add a quality central midfielder to their ranks in the coming days.
Considering that their primary target Mario Lemina has made it clear that he only wanted to join Juventus, Napoli have turned their attention towards Fiorentina’s Matias Vecino.
The Azzurri are already in talks with their Serie A rivals, who appear to want around €14 million for their prized asset.
It remains to be seen whether the two clubs can find an agreement on the transfer fee, but we could easily see Vecino leave Viola after making just six league appearances for the Artemio Franchi outfit.
The Uruguayan largely impressed while on loan with Empoli last season though and a big club move appears on the cards.
