Nemanja Matic and Marcos Rojo have no place in the plans of Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and both have been told they can leave the club in January, according to Mirror.
Matic arrived to Old Trafford in 2017 as Jose Mourinho wanted the defensive midfielder who helped him win the Premier League with Chelsea in 2014/15, and has so far played a total of 94 games in the United shirt. However, Solskjaer has preferred Scott McTominay and Fred in the deep-sitting midfield role to the Serbia international, and it seems Matic’s time with the 20-time English champions is coming to a close. He’s lately been linked with Atletico Madrid, and previously Inter Milan.
Rojo has been at the club somewhat longer, having been signed by Louis van Gaal after some fine displays at the 2014 World Cup with Argentina. His versatility at the back made him an interesting prospect at the time, but he has utterly failed to live up to the expectations. In the pecking order, he now finds himself behind Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof, Phil Jones, Axel Tuanzebe, and possibly Chris Smalling after his loan with AS Roma expires.
