Mats Hummels nears Dortmund exit
Borussia Dortmund captain Mats Hummels is being linked with a move away from Signal-Iduna Park, Bild can reveal.
The World Cup winner has seen his name paired with quite a few top clubs in the last couple of years, but the Millionaires somehow managed to keep hold of his services.
Nevertheless, it appears that Hummels is now closer than ever to Dortmund exit, having also clashed with coach Thomas Tuchel.
The highly rated centre-back has been well below par over the last few weeks, but he hasn’t reacted well to the boss’s criticism of his performances.
This is enough to suggest that Hummels could decide to leave the Millionaires at the earliest opportunity and there is a good chance the club would consider serious offers for his services.
We could, therefore, see the player’s eight-year spell with Borussia Dortmund come to an end sooner than many have expected.
Sporting eyeing Andrea Ranocchia
Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon are weighing up January bid for Inter Milan defender Andrea Ranocchia, according to O Jogo.
The Lions have enjoyed an excellent start to the season and having created a five-point lead at the top they hope to secure the first league trophy since 2002.
And, rather than resting on their laurels, the club officials are working hard in an attempt to further reinforce the squad in the winter, with Inter Milan stopper Andrea Ranocchia one of their latest targets.
Coach Jorge Jesus believes his team are not good enough at the back despite conceding mere five goals in ten league matches and he is determined to lure the 27-year-old to Estadio Jose Alavalade.
Having only started one league game this term, Ranocchia is desperate to leave the Nerazzurri at the earliest opportunity and the club are unlikely to stand in his way.
And with Alberto Aquilani having recently joined Sporting after a successful career in Serie A, it remains to be seen whether his former international teammate will follow in his footsteps.
Premiership clubs keen on Marseille defender
La Provence is reporting that a number of Premier League sides are keeping close tabs on Marseille full-back Brice Dja Djedje.
The 24-year-old had been an important member of the squad under Marcelo Bielsa, but his problems started with the arrival of new coach Michel.
And having gone more than three months without starting a Ligue 1 fixture prior to the weekend’s win over Saint Etienne, the talented defender could be leaving in the winter.
According to La Provence, there are several unnamed Premier League sides that could offer Dja Djedje an escape route from Stade Velodrome.
The Ivory Coast international had joined Marseille from Evian in January 2014, and he has since made a total of 49 league outings for OM.
Marseille showed some improvement to win three of last four Ligue 1 fixtures and they are 21/20 to win the high-profile match vs Monaco as well.
