Celtic star Matt O’Riley is on the verge of joining Brighton and Hove Albion in the summer transfer window, according to Fabrizio Romano. The well-known and well-respected journalist has claimed that Premier League club Brighton have agreed a deal with Scottish Premiership side Celtic over a deal for O’Riley.
Romano wrote on X: “Matt O’Riley to Brighton, here we go! Agreement sealed as reported earlier as #BHAFC complete one more massive signing.
“Celtic to receive £25m fixed fee plus add-ons up to £30m package, record fee in Scotland. O’Riley and Kadioglu, done deals.”
O’Riley has been on the books of Celtic since 2022 when he joined from Milton Keynes Dons. The Denmark international midfielder has been superb for the Hoops and has established himself as a key figure for the Hoops. The 23-year-old has won the Scottish Premiership title thrice, the Scottish Cup twice and the Scottish League Cup once with Celtic so far in his career.
