Matt Phillips 2/1 to score anytime against Sheffield Wednesday in Saturday’s Championship showdown

Competition: Championship

Market: Matt Phillips to score anytime

Odds: 2/1 @ Bet 365

Looking to extend on what has been a stellar start to the new Championship campaign, a high-flying West Brom will welcome Sheffield Wednesday to the Hawthorns on Saturday afternoon.

Starting with the hosts, picking up a 1-0 win away at Hull prior to the international break, few would have expected West Brom’s stellar rise since brining in former West Ham boss Slaven Bilić. Losing just a single Championship appearance since opening the new campaign and already holding a two-point buffer at the top of the table, one man who has continued to shine of late is winger Matt Phillips. Recording six strikes this season, the 28-year-old has two in his last three outings and has also scored in two of his last three matches at the Hawthorns.

As for the visitors, despite starting the new Championship campaign with some real momentum, Sheffield Wednesday have since started to show some inconsistencies. Losing their play-off status prior to the international break, the Owls have won just a single matchup over the past six weeks. There is no doubt that Head Coach Gary Monk will be calling on his side to make some much-needed improvements on the road. Sheffield Wednesday have failed to win any of their last three matchups away from Hillsborough, including a 2-1 loss away at Blackburn earlier in the month.
