Maurizio Sarri wants Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek at Lazio

Gianluca Di Marzio has reported on his website that Lazio want to sign Ruben Loftus-Cheek from Chelsea in the summer transfer window. Maurizio Sarri has been appointed as the new manager of Lazio, and the former Chelsea manager has asked the Italian club to get him the midfielder.

Sarri worked with Loftus-Cheek when he was the manager of Chelsea during the 2018-19 season. During that campaign, the midfielder made six starts and 18 substitute appearances in the Premier League, scoring six goals and providing two assists in the process. The 25-year-old also made eight starts and three substitute appearances in the Europa League that season, scoring four goals and giving three assists in the process.

Loftus-Cheek spent the 2020-21 season on loan at Fulham from Chelsea. The 25-year-old middle made 21 starts and nine substitute appearances in the Premier League for the Cottages, scoring one goal in the process. Fulham were relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.
