Competition: International friendly
Market: Mauro Icardi to score anytime
Odds: 1/1 @ Bet 365
Only four days on from picking up a 2-0 win over Mexico, the two nations will meet once again on Wednesday night at the Estadio Malvinas Argentinas.
Starting with the hosts, while they may have endured a frustrating run at the World Cup over the summer, Jorge Sampaoli’s side have shown some signs of improvement, even if it has been without Lionel Messi. Losing just one of their five post-Russia matchups, Argentina will be looking for Inter Milan captain Mauro Icaradi to fill the void left by the five-time Ballon d’Or winner. Expected to be given a start after settling for a place on the bench last week, the 25-year-old now has four in his last four for Inter. The Argentina marksman also has two Champions League goals to his name.
As for Mexico, despite a plucky effort out in Russia saw them reach the knockout stage, it has been a woeful run for Ricardo Ferretti’s side. Coming off the back of that 2-0 loss against Argentina last week, the Greens have now lost six of their last seven across all competitions. Along with failing to score in three of their last four, it will be Ferretti’s sides defensive issues giving him the biggest headache. Mexico have now failed to register a clean sheet in any of their last eight.
