Mauro Icardi on Chelsea radar
ESPN is reporting that Premier League leaders Chelsea are showing interest in Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi.
With Diego Costa and Loic Remy prone to injury and Didier Drogba recently turning 37, Jose Mourinho is eager to add another quality striker to his ranks.
According to the latest reports, the Portuguese manager has been impressed with Inter’s Mauro Icardi and will attempt to lure him to Stamford Bridge at the earliest opportunity.
Even if the Nerazzurri see the Argentine as a key member of the squad, they are reportedly ready to consider a serious offer for his services as they plan to reinvest the money into rebuilding the squad.
Mauro Icardi has been in excellent form since joining Inter from Sampdoria, notching 25 goals in 51 Serie A appearances.
The 22-year-old recently rejected a new and improved deal at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, which is enough to suggest he is considering a summer exit.
Lloris wants Spurs exit
Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has expressed his desire to leave White Hart Lane, The Guardian can reveal.
The France international joined Spurs hoping to play Champions League football and challenge for major honours, but the North London side utterly failed to realise their ambitions over the last few years.
And with Tottenham again set to miss out on a top 4 finish, Hugo Lloris appears ready to quit White Hart Lane in the summer.
Having largely impressed since arriving at the club, the 28-year-old will have no shortage of offers in the summer transfer window, with Paris Saint-Germain reportedly leading the chase.
After initially struggling to nail down a regular starting berth at White Hart Lane, Lloris went on to make 94 Premier League appearances.
Tottenham sit seven points behind Champions League positions with five games to go and no wonder they are 50/1 to achieve a top 4 finish.
Liverpool handed boost in pursuit of Patricio
Liverpool target Rui Patricio has been made available for sale by Sporting Lisbon, according to O Jogo.
The Lions have so far resisted temptation to cash in on their prized asset, but they now appear ready to negotiate a sale.
O Jogo has suggested that Sporting hope to receive between €9m and €10m for 65 per cent of the player’s economic rights, with the remainder owned by an investment company.
Premier League leaders Liverpool reportedly want Patricio to challenge Simon Mignolet for a starting berth at Anfield and they are likely to be alerted by the latest developments.
Borussia Dortmund and Monaco are also believed to be keen on the 27-year-old, who has spent his entire career up to date at Estadio Jose Alvalade.
Patricio has long been Portugal’s number one shot-stopper and currently has 39 national team caps to his name.
