Is it time for Mauro Manotas to finally leave Major League Soccer? ‘Finally’ might sound too harsh for a player that is 24 years old, but considering everything it feels like the striker has been in MLS for longer than some have expected.
The Colombian forward who currently plays for Houston Dynamo is set to leave the league, according to The Athletic. The regular season in MLS just ended, with Houston finishing in 10th position in the West Conference, eight points from the last play-off spot. Manotas scored 13 goals and made seven assists in 32 appearances in 2019 and now he could be moving to Cruz Azul.
The Mexican club are the potential destination for the Colombian, according to the report. Manotas was expected to leave the club earlier this year, when he almost moved to Russia, but that deal fell through at the last minute. After four full seasons and 49 MLS goals, he might actually leave this time around.
