Ivory Coast winger Max-Alain Gradel has hinted that he is ready to leave Saint Etienne for greener pastures at the end of the season.
The 27-year-old has been putting in some strong performances for les Verts ever since he joined from Leeds United, despite the fact that he hasn’t been able to establish himself as an undisputed starter.
Amidst reports linking the Ivory Coast international with a summer exit, Gradel has admitted that he dreams about playing for a top European club.
“The goal is to go higher, push beyond my limits,” Gradel explained in Le Parisien. “Playing in a great club, play in the Champions League every year.”
The 27-year-old also went to suggest that he was on the verge of joining Paris Saint-Germain together with Adel Taarabt in the summer of 2011, but the deal ultimately fell through due to the change of ownership at Parc des Princes.
Gradel eventually moved to Saint Etienne later that summer and went on to make 91 Ligue 1 appearances for les Verts, scoring 20 goals in the process.
