Paris Saint-Germain full-back Maxwell has admitted that he is thinking about returning to Brazil at the end of the current campaign.
The experienced footballer will be 36 in August and he is unlikely to be offered a new deal at Parc des Princes.
This means that Maxwell is almost certain to leave the club on a free transfer next summer, and a return to Brazil appears on the cards.
Even though he has yet to make a decision on his future, the left-sided defender admits that he could return to his native country.
“A return to Brazil, why not? I left as a youngster, and other players like me left early, not having played (there) for along time and being able to return to play with my family, friends, it is interesting,” Maxwell told RFI.
The left-back left Brazil after spending just one season with Cruzeiro, going on to sign a five-year deal with Ajax Amsterdam.
He went on to represent Inter Milan, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain, lifting no fewer than 11 league titles in the process.
