Maxwell wants PSG stay

Brazilian full-back Maxwell has made it clear that he would like to remain at Parc des Princes for as long as possible.

The 32-year-old has a contract until June 2015, which has led to speculations that he could be sold in the summer.

Nevertheless, Maxwell says he is perfectly happy at Parc des Princes and hopes to sign a new deal with the French giants.

“I have a contract until 2015. I hope to extend,” the Brazilian was quoted as saying in Le Parisien.

“The club knows my intentions. After? I will be 34. I leave that in the hands of God.”

Maxwell has enjoyed an illustrious career that saw him represent European giants Ajax, Inter Milan and Barcelona, winning eight league titles and the 2010/2011 Champions League trophy.

He joined Paris Saint-Germain in January 2012 and did well to nail down a regular starting berth, making a total of 64 Ligue 1 appearances and scoring 5 goals.

Maxwell was finally handed his national team debut in August 2013 and he looks set to make Brazil’s World Cup squad.
