May 13th: Saturday’s Football Accumulator – 9/1

With battles from across Europe looking like they will go down to the wire, we are treated to another action-packed weekend of fixtures. So, for those of you that are looking to stick on a Saturday accumulator, we have found a handful of helpful tips that are worth keeping an eye out for.

Saturday May 13th

BST 13:00 Venezia vs Perugia

While Venezia might have been disappointed after only collecting a 1-1 draw away at Cosenza last weekend, Saturday’s hosts are enjoying what has been a stellar run of form over the past few weeks. Opening May with a rampant display on home soil as they cruised their way to a 5-0 romp against Modena, the mood in Paolo Vanoli’s camp should be at a real high. With their sights firmly set on clinching an immediate Serie A return in 2023, the Winged Lions currently find just their goal difference keeping them outside the play-off spots. In fact, along with mustering 10 points from their last four second-tier appearances, Venezia have also lost just one of their last nine Serie B showdowns – a run that stems all the way back to March 5th. Really finding a clinical edge in the final third since returning from March’s international break, it should be noted that Vanoli’s side have bagged 13 strikes on their four-match unbeaten run. While Saturday’s hosts might be in the midst of a stellar end-of-season flurry, the same cannot be said for a struggling Perugia. Last seen putting in another nightmare display as they slumped to a 5-0 drumming at home against Cagliari, the Griffins appear to be free-falling out of Italy’s second-tier. Sat two points adrift in the automatic relegation spots, Fabrizio Castori’s side are without a win from any of their last seven straight Serie B appearances.

Tip: Venezia win @ 19/20

14:30 Bayern Munich vs Schalke

While Bayern Munich might have not been at their best once again last weekend, Thomas Tuchel’s side did claim what was a crucial victory away from the Allianz. Eventually clinging onto a 2-1 victory away at Werder Bremen, the former Chelsea boss is still desperate for his side to find some much-needed stability. Although the German giants might have secured back-to-back Bundesliga win for the first time since Tuchel returned to Germany, the reigning champions have gained a reputation for some rather glaring defensive issues. Crashing out of the Champions League on April 19th as they suffered a routine 4-1 aggregate defeat at the hands of Premier League heavyweights Manchester City, Saturday’s hosts have recorded just a pair of clean sheets from any of their last 11 straight appearances across all competitions – a run that stems all the way back to March 8th. It’s also worth highlighting, Tuchel’s inconstant squad have recorded just a single clean sheet in front of their own supporters over the past two months. While Schalke might travel to the Allianz tipped as a landslide underdog on Saturday afternoon, the Blues are enjoying what has been a hugely impressive run of form. Last seen claiming an action-packed 3-2 victory away at Mainz, Thomas Reis’ side have won three of their last four Bundesliga showdowns. With that run highlighted by a stellar 5-2 romp at home against Hertha Berlin on April 14th, Schalke should be looking to test a leaky Bayern defence here.

Tip: Bayern Munich win & Both teams to score @ 2/1

19:45 Sligo Rovers vs Shelbourne

Although Shelbourne might have been looking over their shoulder from large spells of last season, Damien Duff’s side have impressed many across Ireland since opening the 2023 campaign. Last seen putting in another professional display as they claimed a 1-0 victory at home against UC Dublin, Saturday’s guests are unbeaten in each of their last seven domestic appearances – a run that stems back to March 31st. Likewise, with just a single defeat from any of their last 10 straight outings, the one-time Chelsea star will be calling on his side to make another statement on Saturday night. With their eye-catching run of form highlighted by a 2-1 victory against Cork last month, Shelbourne will be looking to cash in on a Sligo squad that have continued to show some extended inconstancies. Making an immediate return to losing ways last weekend as they suffered a 1-0 defeat at home against Dundalk, Saturday’s guests have won just a pair of their last six Premier Division appearances. Likewise, on a run that is highlighted by a 1-0 loss against Bohemians on April 1st, John Russell’s side have recorded just a single win at the Showgrounds from their previous five attempts. Suffering a 2-1 loss when they made the trip to Shelbourne for a top-flight showdown on April 10th, an away double chance can be found at appealing odds here.

Tip: Shelbourne double chance @ 8/11
