With the penultimate weekend of Premier League fixtures taking center stage this weekend, we have a host of eye-catching contests. So, for those of you looking to stick on a Sunday acca, we have found a handful of helpful tips that are worth taking note of.
Sunday May 15th
BST 14:00 Leeds vs Brighton
Starting with Sunday’s guests, while Brighton might have shown some inconsistencies since opening 2022, Graham Potter’s men are enjoying a real recent boost. Last seen putting in a stunning display as they stormed their way to a remarkable 4-0 win against Manchester United on the south coast, they should find the mood in their camp at a red-hot high. Finding a way to build off of their 3-0 romp away at Wolves on April 30th, the former Swansea boss has seen his side lose just one of their last seven Premier League matchups, a run that stems all the way back to March 16th. Finding a route into the top-half of the table, Potter should be smelling the chance for his side to lay down another marker here. Likewise, along with that stellar display away at Molineux a fortnight ago, it should be noted that the Seagulls have collected nine points from their last four contests on the road. On the flip side, hit with a woeful 3-0 drumming at home against Chelsea a few days ago, Leeds find themselves firmly in an uphill struggle. Opening this weekend’s fixtures sat in the bottom-three and knowing they face a stern test here, Jesse Marsch’s new squad have lost each of their last three Premier League outings. It should be noted, with Brighton losing just one of their last 11 straight meetings against Sunday’s opponents, an away victory be found at hugely impressive odds here.
Tip: Brighton win @ 7/5
15:00 Boreham Wood vs Solihull Moors
Already wrapping up their play-off spot with plenty of time to spare, Solihull Moors’ have only continued on what has been a hugely impressive campaign at Damson Park this season. While the Midlands-based outfit might have only just pinched themselves a top-half finish last year, Neal Ardley’s men now have their sights set on clinching a shock promotion to the Football League this time around. Knowing that victory here would secure them an automatic semi-final spot in this season’s play-off battle, Sunday’s guests were last seen putting in another eye-catching display. Eventually picking up a deserved 3-1 win at home against Dagenham & Redbridge, the Moors have won each of their last four National League matchups. Likewise, with that run highlighted by a 3-0 romp against Bromley earlier in the month, it should be noted that Ardley’s side have lost just one of their last 12 fifth-tier contests. Picking up a 3-1 win when they last faced off against Sunday’s opponents back in September, they will be looking to cash in on a downbeat Boreham Wood squad. Last seen getting hit with a 1-0 defeat against Grimsby earlier in the week, Luke Garrard’s men have really failed to build off of their impressive FA Cup run. Recording just a pair of National League victories since the end of February and facing what could be a real task this weekend, we’re backing an away victory here.
Tip: Solihull Moors win @ 11/10
18:30 Getafe vs Barcelona
Starting with Sunday’s guests, although Barcelona might have seen German outfit Eintracht Frankfurt shockingly knock them out of the Europa League last month, there is no doubt that they have found their feet under Xavi. Gaining plenty of plaudits since bringing their former midfield icon back to the Nou Camp, the European giants have already wrapped up a top-four finish with time to spare. Last seen earlier in the week picking up a deserved 3-1 win at home against Celta Vigo, Barca have also now won four of their previous five La Liga contests. With it looking like the mood around Catalonia is at the highest it has been in recent times, Xavi’s side will now have their sights set on signing off the 2021/22 campaign with a real flurry. With former Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang enjoying his own free-scoring run since arriving in Catalonia, Sunday’s hosts should rightfully be smelling a chance this weekend. While Getafe might have all but managed to extend on their top-flight status for another season, the Azulones have shown some extended issues this year. Now having to settle for a single point in their last three La Liga outings, it should be noted that Quique Sánchez Flores’ side have won just one of their previous six contests. Likewise, with Barcelona winning six of their last seven meetings against the relegation outsiders, we’re backing an away victory here at generous odds.
Tip: Barcelona win @ 23/20
