UEFA have rejected Napoli coach Walter Mazzarri’s appeal against a touchline ban, to be served in the Champions League round of 16.
Mazzarri was handed the two-match ban by UEFA last month for his part in a scuffle with Villarreal’s Nilmar during the teams’ group-stage meeting on December 7.
He was also given a 3,000-euro fine after being deemed guilty of improper conduct.
On Thursday UEFA announced they had rejected Mazzarri’s appeal, applying a further one-match touchline ban, suspended for a probationary period of two years.
The 50-year-old will serve the two-match ban during the two legs of Napoli’s round-of-16 clash with English Premier League side Chelsea, with the first instalment due to take place at the Stadio San Paolo on February 21.
