According to AS, Kylian Mbappe’s move to Real Madrid is edging closer. In fact, the tone of the report is such that they obviously believe it has now become imminent.
However, the 22-year-old forward will join Los Blancos on lower wages than he would have been receiving had he opted to sign the new Paris Saint-Germain that has been offered to him, which in turn demands a few sacrifices from the Spanish giants in his favour. First of all, he wants to be the star of the team – a role he’s been sharing with Neymar, and now Lionel Messi, at PSG.
But he also wants guarantees that he would be allowed to represent France at the 2024 Olympics, set to take place in Paris, and his contract, should his move to the Santiago Bernabeu happen, is likely to contain a clause which would satisfy this particular demand.
Mbappe has already won the World Cup with his country, something very few players of his age can boast about, and he obviously wants to take the centre stage in his country’s capital in three years’ time.
