According to a recent report from L’Equipe, Real Madrid have accepted the fact that it will not be possible for them to sign Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe during the summer. There’s still so much uncertainty surrounding what is going to happen with the summer window, and with PSG insisting that he still isn’t for sale, the kind of figures needed to change their mind wouldn’t be plausible given the current situation with the COVID-19 pandemic.
Mbappe’s current contract would see him stay at PSG until 2022, but the popular opinion is that he will indeed join Real sooner rather than later. The youngster is widely considered to be one of the most skilled players in world football today, and PSG are well aware of that.
This is the kind of saga that is bound to be dragged out for quite some, with both sides hoping for a speedy resolution that probably won’t come.
