The situation regarding Kylian Mbappe and Paris Saint-Germain is becoming more serious by the day. The French forward has been left out of the squad for their pre-season tour of Japan, with the Ligue 1 giants making it clear that they want only fully committed players in their ranks for the upcoming season. PSG reportedly believe Mbappe has already agreed to join Real Madrid next summer, when his contract expires, despite their determination not to lose his services for free.
But Mbappe also remains firm in his stance not to sign a new contract with PSG, and according to Sky Sports, his immediate reaction to being left out of the squad for the pre-season tour is that he’s prepared to stay put until next summer even if that means sitting on the bench or not playing at all.
If that happens, PSG will still be obliged to pay the 24-year-old his wages, and as things stand at the moment, there is nothing they can do to prevent him from achieving his goal of moving to Madrid as a free agent next summer.
