Kylian Mbappe has entered the final 18 months of his contract with Paris Saint-Germain, and his future now appears completely undecided among many options.
Of course, the Ligue 1 champions would love for him to sign a new deal and stay put, and according to AS, they are confident of getting their wish despite the interest from the likes of Real Madrid. For their part, Real have made signing the 22-year-old forward their number one priority, by all accounts, but their chances are believed to have thinned due to head coach Zinedine Zidane recently naming Karim Benzema as the best French forward ever. Apparently, it was a statement Mbappe did not appreciate too much.
Liverpool are also named among the interested parties, with Roberto Firmino turning 30 this year, while Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane turn 29. There is awareness in the ranks of the Premier League champions that their star forwards ageing together could prove costly in a year or two; a problem which would be thoroughly solved by signing Mbappe in addition to 24-year-old Diogo Jota who arrived last summer and hit the ground running.
Manager Jurgen Klopp and Mbappe have expressed mutual admiration for each other in the past.
