Kylian Mbappe has apparently been given advice that he should snub any potential advances from other clubs and move to Manchester United, and embark upon a mission to be the man that would awaken the ‘sleeping giant’.
Discussing the subject on ESPN, former Fulham striker Brian McBride expressed his belief that a move to Old Trafford would be the best way for the young Frenchman to take. Mbappe’s move to the Parc Des Princes was the second most-expensive transfer of all time, behind only that of Neymar from Barcelona to the French capital. But United’s ability to close the deal financially is apparently not a problem.
McBride explained his stance by pointing out that Mbappe would have to do a lot of defensive work if he were to join, say, Liverpool, and he believes the Champions League holders would be reluctant to disrupt the current front three by adding another top-quality forward. He also adds that playing for Barcelona and receiving passes from Lionel Messi certainly has its merits, but he still claims it would be better for Mbappe to be the driving force behind the resurrection of the 20-time English champions.
