McDonald Mariga rejoins Parma

Parma have announced on their official website that they have completed the signing of Kenyan midfielder McDonald Mariga from Inter Milan.

The 27-year-old arrives on a free transfer having been released at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza and he has signed a one-year deal with an option for further two seasons.

This will be the midfielder’s fourth spell at Ennio Tardini, with Mariga initially joining I Ducali from Helsingborg back in January 2007.

Following some impressive showings in Serie A, the Kenyan was sold to Inter Milan for €10 million, but he in turn failed to prove his worth at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza and was twice loaned back to Parma.

Mariga was eventually freed from his contract at Inter in May 2014, and having spent several weeks training with I Ducali, he has earned another chance to impress at Ennio Tardini.

The holding midfielder has made 35 appearances for the Kenya national team and scored 5 goals in the process.
