Chelsea youngster Josh McEachran is keen for talks with manager Roberto Di Matteo after being unsure over his future.
The 19-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at Swansea – only to go on and make just two starts at the Liberty Stadium – and is now hoping he can earn his chance at Stamford Bridge.
The highly-rated midfielder is currently with the Chelsea squad ahead of their pre-season tour of America, and wants to impress his manager.
“I want to play as many games as I can for Chelsea this season,” McEachran told reporters.
“I’m a Chelsea player and I want to play for Chelsea. But if the manager wants to send me out on loan then that’s up to him at the end of the day.”
The England Under-21 midfielder has conceded that although he may have to spend another season away from the club, he wants some guarantees over his first-team opportunities, citing his disappointment at his lack of playing time with the Swans.
“Last season was frustrating because the whole reason I went to Swansea was to play games,” he said.
“In football there are always setbacks – it’s about how you deal with them.”
Chelsea’s first game of their pre-season tour is against the Seattle Sounders on Wednesday.
